In previous articles of the Chakra Series, I have referred to the 7 main energy centers. All energy centers of the physical body hold a specific frequency (vibration), color, pattern and texture associated with the organs and internal system, thereby interpenetrating the body to keep the body alive and functioning. The energy centers apply to the physical structure because they integrate, organize and condense energy into physical matter. The body is a map to cellular consciousness.
The energy centers are perpendicular to the meridians that Chinese medicine refers to as vertical moving energy channels. The meridian lines contain the axis points of the body and live along the channels correlated with the internal system of the human body. The chakra energy centers and meridian channels are interdependent and keep the life force energy moving through us like a stream.
The Solar Plexus Chakra Center
All seven energy centers of the physical body hold a specific frequency or vibration. These centers absorb and emit energy. They radiate a pulse in and around the body like a vortex. If the Solar Plexus Chakra Center is vibrating at a low frequency or if it is closed, it throws off the equilibrium in the body.
That in turn causes unease or discomfort in the body and its state of health. The Energy Centers each have distinct colors (moving clouds of color and prisms), patterns (smooth waves moving fluidly along the grid of our bodies) and textures (static, dense, light, smooth) and sounds associated with sequential tones measured in hertz (unit of frequency.)
Solar Plexus is the Seat of Personal Power. In Sanskrit language, it is traditionally called “ManiPura” translated as “Gem City.” This is the 3rd chakra center that emanates the physical body with the nonphysical electromagnetic field of yellow-gold vibration.
It permeates the physical structure of the human body when activated. It is meant to move us through life. The Solar Plexus Energy Center hovers just above the Sacral Energy Center (the second Chakra born for creation, desire and pleasure) almost overlapping it. When the Solar Plexus is strongly activated it emits the energy frequencies of 528 Hz which governs the energy center of personal power, identity, personality and the ego. It is the “Self Identity” that seeks out personal freedom, choice and authenticity.
The physical location of the Solar Plexus, Power Chakra, “ManiPura” is located in the pit of the stomach, above the navel, also residing in the upper belly of the diaphragm. The Solar Plexus, The Manipuri, is a Gold Yellow Hue associated with fire, the sun and mutually related to the Stomach, Liver, Gall Bladder, Kidney, Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Muscular system, Adrenal Glands, Diaphragm and Skin. Any physical ailments diagnosed in connection with these internal organs, points an arrow to the Solar Plexus being out of alignment.
The human energy field consists of the ether layer which holds the physical structure together. The cognitive and emotional layers are the energy fields beyond the ether layer (a blueish white light) and extend about three inches from the body. The phenomena of mental processes in sub stages with the emotional body are a finer substance than that of the etheric body. The mental and emotional “bodies” are a hub of transformation and transition.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd chakras are responsible for the physical world. The upper three chakras orient our mental and emotional experiences and processes in the non-physical world. The heart center is the precipice to the astral body, the gateway or “open sesame” door through which the physical and non-physical self are connected.
I will extend this conversation on it in my next article however, the Third Energy Center, the layer that pulses just below the Heart Center, is an important segue to the emotional domain. To reemphasize, it reflects the personal power, desire, drive, will power, personality, ego, identity, confidence, proactivity, responsibility, personal control; a sense of freedom and choice. If the Solar Plexus is operating at low energy frequency, it suffers.
This may manifest in various forms and degree of anxiety, low self esteem, jealousy, control over others, competition, lack of self confidence, feelings of being trapped with no options, self sabotage, no sense of self solidarity, stuck-ness in life or inertia concerning forward movement and lastly, a sense of not living an authentic life of ethics, honor or integrity towards yourself and others.
The Solar Plexus emanates a yellow-gold hue that represents a reflection of ourselves in others. The Gold Ray of this vibrational energy center is interconnected to the personal identity in how we feel- how understood we feel, how seen we feel, how heard we feel and how acknowledged we feel. Relationship seeds from the early start of life influence how we perceive ourselves, how we process our self identity and stars in a pattern of behaviors, reflexes and perceptions about our personal value.
However, feeling good doesn’t come from a place of narcissism (that stems from a deep sense of shame.) The indication of a strong Solar Plexus is a “Healthy Ego” that lends to the allowance of authenticity, honor, integrity, desires, intentions and promises to Self. It’s the natural state of health and the natural state of Being when one is in alignment with the Solar Plexus and all the Energy Centers.
In relationships its always in your best interest to meet the other person’s best interests. When there are mutual agreements in relationships, there is natural reciprocity- an energy exchange that will create a position of alignment and growth. Conclusively, all we have are our relationships, experiences and connections with one another. The Solar Plexus represents the emerging relationship we have with ourselves and others.
So, how do we take specific steps to activate a strong Solar Plexus Center and create better relationships with ourselves and others? How do we create alignment with the “whole of our being” and thus create an equilibrium of health?
Here are some tangible ways to activate the Solar Plexus Chakra:
Wellness vision is another phrase for Visualization. When you put your hands over your Solar Plexus Chakra, the region dominated by the upper belly of the diaphragm, where your adrenals meet your gut region just above your navel, you are activating the Power Energy Center.
I encourage you to imagine a brilliant yellow gold radiating energy (like the glow around a flame) pulsing and pulling in energy with each Inhale you take. Emit that energy outward on the exhale and that will open and activate the Solar Plexus. Besides this visualization technique, you may also surround and immerse yourself with the yellow-gold colors of the Solar Plexus in your physical environment. This will open up the Energy vibration at free will.
Sounds, Binaural Beats, Toning Traditions with Voice and Instruments, Chanting, Mantras and Music will synchronize a sound vibration of the Solar Plexus, the Third Chakra, thus creating a viral effect of absorption and emission of energy in your electromagnetic field.
Plants, Herbs, Essential Oils carry energy frequencies. Color, patterns, textures and smells of these elements can immediately activate the Solar Plexus Energy Center. Some in my opinion, that will activate your sensory experience are: Ginger, Dandelion, Saffron, Tumeric, Cinnamon, Chamomile, Bergamot, Lemon Balm, Lemon Grass, Fennel, Marshmallow Root, Lemon, Milk Thistle, Calendula.
Foods: Eating Certain Food “Medicine” will also activate the sensory experience and support any of the bodily systems associated with the “ManiPura” Chakra. Some that respectively activate the Solar Plexus Energy Center by color vibration are: Bananas, Pears, Pumpkin, Yellow Pepper, Squash, Sun Flower Seeds, Lentils, Curries, Corn, Pineapples, Lemons, Cumin, Brown Rice, Spelt, Quinoa, Cardamon, Sour Kraut, Radish, Oats, Barley, Ginger.
Bring certain Geological Minerals into your home. They also carry strong energy frequencies of the Third Energy Center. Some that influence your Solar Plexus Chakra by color, texture and patterns are: Citrine (known as the wealth and abundance stone), Honey Comb Calcite, Sun Stone, Amber, Golden Barrel, Yellow Tourmaline, Topaz, Carnelian, Hematite, Tigers Eye, Spirit Quartz.
These can be applied by holding them to your chakra during breath work, meditation or visualization. They can also be used during a chakra balancing massage and held by the practitioner. You can energize these minerals by exposing them to sunlight and water. In this way they will cleanse, activate, emit and absorb energy where ever you place them.
Movement or Activity: You can also take a hike to the mountains, or canyon and receive the same effects of touch stone mineral energy. The Solar Plexus is so much about movement. Move your body. Stretch. Try Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, receive an Abdominal Massage called “Chi Ne Tsang.”
There are classes and instructional material online that will help you practice movements specifically for the Solar Plexus. It doesn’t matter what kind of movement you do. As long as its in alignment with personal authenticity or true preferences. You must enjoy the process.
Language, Chants, Affirmations (deliberate thoughts, words and actions) that are cohesive to Your true desires & intentions will deliberate the activation of the Solar Plexus. Affirmations are only as good as they honor moments of truth. Address what resonates with your authentic feelings and that will do far more good than any blanketed affirmation.
Any step that resonates with you towards personal empowerment, will help you open and activate your Solar Plexus Chakra. Finally, make choices that internally agree with you and verbally express only that which reflects your true state, true self, true desires and true intent.
Take New Risks: The Solar Plexus loves powerful forward movement when it coordinates with personal truth. The difference is lining up with doing what you like/love while taking that risk, versus doing what you don’t like/don’t love. It doesn’t work. It’s a mismatch.
There is no alignment. It creates unease and eventual imbalance in the state of health (ie. such as working a job you don’t like.) Really wanting to do something even with the recognition of uncertainty or fear, is going to progressively assist in strengthening the Solar Plexus Chakra. The bottom line is taking those reflective risks is an act of personal empowerment.
The Sun & Eco Therapy: Get Outside. Immerse yourself in Nature. The Solar Plexus is so affected by the Sun. It affects the Skin, which is the largest organ in the physical body. Exposing moderate sunlight to the skin every day, is one of the best things to bring the Solar Plexus Chakra into balance. Get your vitamin D.
Getting clarity on your desires, allowing yourself to want what you want and living an authentic representation of your life, will benefit you to feel more ease in your self identity, personal freedom, personal empowerment, and thus create more rewarding experiences in life that bring cohesiveness with yourself and others.
In closing, I hope this article on the solar plexus energy center resonates with you and encourages some connective reflection on the multi-dimensions of mind, body, spirit and the synergies composed of all the chakra energy centers. Next up we will be discussing the Fourth Energy Center, the Heart Chakra, known as the gateway to love consciousness.
I hope this article finds you well and until the next time we commune!
